Ladies canoe got overruled by Chinese

Ladies´ canoe category brought a great surprise. The first and the second place took Chinese athletes Nangin Cen (129.86) and Qianqian Teng (137.03). Jessica Fox, who had been sovereign before, missed the gate despite an excellent first part. The third position in the Finals full of Eskimo rolls goes to Katarína Macová (141.53).

The stopper in the gate No. 18 caused lots of problems to many racers in C1W category, Eskimo rolls were very frequent. Fox avoided rolling, but she didn’t manage to get to the upstream gate No. 19 placed beside the stream. On the other hand, Macova was up-side-down in this part of the course but rolled back very quickly and at the end finished on the third position.

The favourite Jana Dukátová from Slovakia (one of the best women paddlers winning the World Cup Series last year and the World Championships in 2006 in K1 category) also missed the gate in her canoe race. She finished 6th with 50 seconds penalty (total time 171.83). Czech representative reached the 9th position.
