Unfortunate “spraydeck mistake” of Dukátová, victory goes to Schornberg

Incredible mistake caused by loose spraydeck took the success away from the favourite Jana Dukátová, the clear winner of the Semi-finals. German athlete Jasmin Schornbergová with time 109.05 took the lead, leaving the second place for Fiona Pennie (109.16) from UK with just minimum time difference. Štěpánka Hilgertová (109.79) won the bronze medal after the very dramatic race full of mistakes of the other competitors. Irena Pavelková finished on 5^th position. Jana Dukátová got to the finish line strongly supported by audience despite the substantial amount of water that got into her boat making it hard to coordinate as it was almost sinking.
