The fourth CEZ Czech Cup in Prague on 13 May closed the Czech selection races for the season 2018. At the same time, the Czech titles have been distributed. Vavřinec Hradilek got a revenge for his unsuccessful selection races as he gains the title in men´s kayak beating Prskavec and the rest of the field.

Only one month before the ECA European Canoe Slalom Championships in Prague – Troja starts (1-3 June), the Czech paddlers expect one of the most crucial competition this weekend. The canoe slalom course on Trnávka in Zeliv welcomes the first two races of the CEZ Czech Cup 2018, which also is the Czech selection to the national team. On 5 and 6 may, we can see the real “Czech power on the water” especially in the men´s kayak with Vavrinec Hradilek, Vit Prindis, Jiri prskavec or the reigning world champion Ondrej Tunka.

It will be a month full of pressure and four tough competitions with the peak in Prague – Troja. It is the European Canoe Slalom Championships what attracts kayaker Jiří Prskavec this season the most because Prague is his home course. “But nobody from the Czech paddlers wants to miss it,” he says.

Also this year, he will be present at the major sports event in Prague – Troja. The photographer Jan Homolka admires not only the beauties of canoe slalom but also the women in this sport. He will also be working at the European Canoe Slalom championships in June.
