Jaroslav Pollert: The canoe slalom model for adults and kids
At the World Cup in Prague Troja, prof. Jaroslav Pollert Jr. and his team also participated in the design and implementation of a canoe slalom track for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games and the upcoming Olympic Park in Stromovka.
"For those interested in the process of preparation and modeling, we have prepared demonstration models where people can play with adjustable obstacles and see their effect on water flow, which is a key to a quality slalom course," says project author Jaroslav Pollert Jr.
"During the World Cup, we have prepared a smaller model (approx. 2 x 1 meter large) and we are preparing a much larger model for the Olympic Park - let yourself be surprised," adds the author of large slalom projects from the Czech Technical University in Prague.
The aim of this project is to promote water slalom and canoe sports in general, to approach the topic of water flow and to demonstrate model techniques that help to design slalom tracks for quality water terrain and further reduce investment costs.
