Two weeks to the start. The anthems will be sung by Eva Říhová
In two weeks, one of the most popular sports events of the year will break out in Prague - Troja - the ICF Canoe Slalom World Cup (June 10 - 12, 2022). The organising team, led by the two-time Olympic medalist Jiří Rohan, invites all sports fans and families to support not only Czech representatives on the start of the carousel of the ICF events. There will be a complete Czech national team at the start, led by the Olympic winner Jiří Prskavec and the silver medalist from Tokyo Lukáš Rohan.
In Prague – Troja, we will also be able to meet the newly crowned European champions from Liptovský Mikuláš, where kayaker Vít Přindiš is defending three gold medals. He is always very much looking forward to Troja. "After last season without spectators, I am looking forward to Troja much more than ever before. I think we have a lot to show and I believe that we will please the fans with great results and not only that," said Vít Přindiš, the winner of the overall evaluation of the 2017 World Cup.
Traditionally, moderators Daniel Stach and Miroslav Lenc will accompany visitors from the commentary tower directly above the water.
After a two-year break, fans will be allowed to enter the complex in addition to accredited people. "I think I can also confirm for the competitors that everyone is looking forward to the fans. Without them, the incredible atmosphere would not be possible in Troja. In recent years, we have confirmed that fans are an integral part of canoe slalom and thanks to them, our paddlers bring medals from the world's largest events," adds Jiří Rohan, director of the organising committee.
The official mascot of the World Cup in Troja – the lion Véna is also happy to take pictures with the fans. They can also follow him on his Véna Canoe Wild Facebook profile.
Refreshments and an accompanying program for the whole family will be provided in the area. A great rarity are also medal ceremonies, where the national anthems are sang live by the canoeist Eva Říhová.
The World Cup, like other global sporting events, faces challenging economic conditions, which it solves thanks to many years of cooperation with major partners. "The general partner is CEZ Group, the main partner of UNIQA, and a number of partners also help, both those long-term ones who we especially value and those who have decided to support our event this year. For this year, we received financial support from the capital city of Prague, unfortunately in a lower amount than in previous years. We expect financial support from the National Sports Agency but it has not yet been decided…,“ adds Jiří Rohan on behalf of OC.
The tickets are already in sale via Ticketportal.
