Program, Results, Links - The World Cup in Prague Begins

treninkOn Friday (7 June 2024), the long-awaited ICF Canoe Slalom World Cup begins in Prague. Due to high water levels, the program had to be adjusted. On Friday, kayakers will start, Saturday will be dedicated to the canoeists' race, and Sunday's kayak cross will determine last spots at Olympic Games in Paris.

You can look forward to exciting, adrenaline-filled races in the coming days. Competitors will start on Friday from 1:15 PM. "The World Cup in Prague is without a doubt my favorite race! I love the atmosphere created by commentators Míra Lenc and Dan Stach, and the people who come to cheer. And that's why I hope my race goes well because the feeling when you succeed in front of a home crowd is indescribable," says European Vice-Champion Gabriela Satková.

Czechia is gearing up to compete for a spot in the new Olympic discipline, Kayak Cross. Spots are up for grabs for the top three countries, and our representatives are ready to give it their all. "The Czech internal selection ended in the spring races. I managed to win the entire nomination, so I won the Czech spot, but that means nothing yet," describes reigning European champion Vít Přindiš.

The Czechs need to succeed in the global selection, which will take place during Sunday's race in Prague. "It will be a huge battle because everyone who missed their chance in the slalom is now eyeing those three spots available to the entire world. Everyone is really top-notch, and we are in for a tough fight," says Přindiš. Both Vít Přindiš in the men's category and Tereza Fišerová in the women's category have a chance to participate in the Olympics for the Czech Republic. Another Czech racer can secure a spot and will be financially rewarded.

We invite all fans to come and support our athletes and enjoy an unforgettable sporting atmosphere. Audience support boosts performance. Viewers can watch the exciting moments not only on-site but also through various media channels, including Czech Television. Prague's Troja will become the focal point of the global canoeing community for several days.

"We are proud to host the World Cup in Prague again. This race is always a great challenge for us but also an opportunity to showcase our top athletes," said Jiří Rohan, the director of the World Cup organizing committee.

The race is being held with financial support from the National Sports Agency and the City of Prague. The general partner of the race is the ČEZ Group, with UNIQA Insurance as the main partner.
