Busy 2025 Season: Key Competitions in France, Australia, and Czechia
Even after the Paris Olympics, canoe slalom athletes will not get a break in the 2025 season. In addition to the Canoe Slalom World Cup, which will visit Prague's Troja at the end of June, they will fight for their first international medals in May at the ECA European Championships on the Olympic course in France. The World Championships will conclude the long season, this time in the highly attractive Australia – the home of the current biggest star of canoe slalom, Jessica Fox.
The European Championships in canoe slalom will take place in Vaires-sur-Marne from 14 to 18 May 2025. The World Championships in Penrith, Australia, are scheduled for October 1 to 6, 2025. Jessica Fox, who already has 14 world titles to her name, is certainly the biggest contender for gold on her home soil.
The ICF Canoe Slalom World Cup will kick off with the first event on the Spanish Olympic course in Seu d'Urgell from June 6 to 8. The following week, the athletes will move again to France, to the town of Pau, where the World Cup will take place from June 13 to 15. Then, at the end of June, the world’s best athletes will meet in the popular Troja course from June 27 to 29, 2025.
The fourth of the five World Cup events is planned for the end of August, from August 29 to 31, in Ljubljana, Slovenia. The last event before the World Championships will be held on the Eiskanal in Augsburg, Germany, from September 4 to 7.
The junior national team and the U23 team can look forward to the European Championships in Solkan, Slovenia, from July 30 to August 3. The World Junior and U23 Championships will again be held in France, from July 8 to 13 in Foix.
In Troja, spectators can also look forward to the Summer ICF World Ranking Race from August 15 to 17, as well as the Czech Cup races sponsored by the ČEZ Group.
