The fourth CEZ Czech Cup in Prague on 13 May closed the Czech selection races for the season 2018. At the same time, the Czech titles have been distributed. Vavřinec Hradilek got a revenge for his unsuccessful selection races as he gains the title in men´s kayak beating Prskavec and the rest of the field.
Only one month before the ECA European Canoe Slalom Championships in Prague – Troja starts (1-3 June), the Czech paddlers expect one of the most crucial competition this weekend. The canoe slalom course on Trnávka in Zeliv welcomes the first two races of the CEZ Czech Cup 2018, which also is the Czech selection to the national team. On 5 and 6 may, we can see the real “Czech power on the water” especially in the men´s kayak with Vavrinec Hradilek, Vit Prindis, Jiri prskavec or the reigning world champion Ondrej Tunka.
Less than two months before the ECA European Canoe Slalom championships in Prague – Troja (1. – 3. 6. 2018) the ticket sales have been lounged. It started today 9 April at 9 AM via the web page TicketPro.cz. The C2 men´s category also in the program.
ICF's decision to exclude men’s C2 events from the World Cup series and World Championships effective immediately has caused a lot of upset among the athletes, whose lives have turned upside down overnight. This event however remains in the European Championships programme as European Canoe Association is not obliged to follow the ICF rules in its entirety.
You can hardly find a place with a richer sports history in the Czech Republic. The canoe slalom track in Prague – Troja has hosted many events – local and international. It welcomed kids but also global sport stars, World Cups, World Championships even twice, Czech Cup competitions and now also the European Championships. How well do you know its history?
