Best K1M heates by Hradílek, Hilgert, and Kauzer

Similarly to women qualification, the best time from the first round remained unexceeded. Thus, the first place belongs to Vavřinec Hradílek. He himself cooled down and let spectators enjoy his race. However, Luboš Hilgert improved his time and got himself onto the second place with a time 84.70. Peter Kauzer also showed he's in form here by improving his time to 84.91. Due to this time, Czech kayaker Jiří Prskavec had been shelved onto the fourth position (time 85.24).

Here you can find the complete results of K1M qualification.

There will be forty semifinalists competing tomorrow morning, the best of them will take part in finals tomorrow afternoon.

No celebrity will be missing in the semifinals – the world champion Danielle Molmenti (ITA), the winner of the olympic games in Beijing Alexander Grimm (GER), not even the Schwitzerland kayaker Michael Kurt, who missed the gate in his first heat.

The second heats of K1W didn't change the first position

The leading time 97.39 achieved by Ireny Pavelkové (CZE) from the first heats wasn't overcome in the second heats. Melanie Pfeifer (GER), third after the first qualification races, displaced Štěpánka Hilgertová (CZE) to the third position, as she improved to 98.28 in the latter half of the qualification. On the contrary, Štěpánka Hilgertová was a bit slower, altogether with two touches it was 104.47 in the second race for her. Claudia Baer (GER) established herself as the fourth fastest woman kayaker in the qualification by not going over 100 seconds (99.44). Then there's a favoured Jana Dukátová (SVK) on the fifth position with a time from her first heat 100.25.

You can find the complete K1W heats results includind both runs here.

Czech kayaker Hradílek splendidly surpassed his rivals

Second runs of K1W will take place at 4.30 p.m.

The qualification of double canoe changed into a Slovakian joust

There were only hundreths between the time of cousins Škantárs and brothers Hochschorners in both of the qualification runs. Nevertheless, Škantár's duo avoided mistakes and their final time was 96.88, whilst Hochschorners had the two seconds penalty, and their final time was 98.09. French canoeists Gauthier Klauss and Matthieu Peche kept themselves on the third place, even though they had a bad luck during their second run.

There are also four Czech crews between the twenty semifinalists. Complete results available here.

Double canoe semifinal takes place on Sunday morning, the final on Sunday afternoon.
